Camp Descriptions:*Reading Camp with Ms. Cerdeira & Ms. Szydlowski Jun 29-Jul 2, Grades K-3 This 4-day Dr. Seuss’ Reading Enhancement Summer Camp is a fun, engaging, and hands-on literacy experience designed to strengthen reading, spelling, and writing skills while still having fun! Using the structured, multisensory Orton-Gillingham approach, students will learn through movement, touch, and play. Students will also have the opportunity to socially interact with their peers outdoors and play games. Each day includes activities such as tracing letters and sounds in sand, building words with playdough, interactive games, read-a-louds, and guided practice that supports phonics, decoding, and language development. Lessons will allow students to build confidence while learning in a supportive, encouraging and fun environment. This camp is ideal for students who benefit from a multisensory approach to reading instruction while having fun and staying engaged throughout the summer.
Sports Camp with Mr. Mulcahy July 6-10, Grades 2-6 Saints Summer Games. “Run so as to win the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24 Saints Summer Games will combine athletic contests with true stories of virtue based on the lives of saints. Teams will compete for Olympic style honors for athletic prowess, team spirit, and embodying the virtues of the saints.
Drama (Readers Theater) Camp with Mrs. Flamio & Mr. Lobo July 6-10, Grades 3-6 Storytellers on Stage Where Reading and Writing Become Drama. If you enjoy acting, reading aloud, or making up your own characters, then join us for Storytellers on Stage, a fun and interactive workshop where students become readers, writers, and performers! Build confidence through Reader’s Theatre by practicing expressive and fluent reading, writing original stories and scripts, and turning your writing into live performances. You will enjoy working in teams, sharing ideas, and performing for peers in a supportive environment. Daily activities will include drama game warm-ups, Reader’s Theatre practice, Creative writing mini-lessons, story and script writing, and peer performances. All writing and reading materials will be provided. Campers will be responsible for bringing a morning snack and lunch daily. Students will also have playground time and games. Our celebration will conclude on Friday with a Pizza Party Lunch (pizza provided on Friday.)
Dance Camp with Ms. Szydlowski & Ms. Solazzo July 13-17, Grades K-2 Sunshine Steps. Join Ms. Szydlowski & Ms. Solazzo for a fun-filled and energetic week diving into a variety of dance styles and techniques while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Each day is filled with movement, outdoor play, and hands-on crafts, giving campers plenty of opportunities to express themselves and make new friends. Throughout the week, students will work in groups to create and rehearse their own exciting dances, all leading up to an exciting end-of-camp showcase where they perform for friends and celebrate everything they’ve learned.
Vocal Camp with Mr. Alford July 13-17, Grades 3-9 Join Mr. Alford for a week filled with age appropriate vocal instruction and tons of fun. Campers will receive individual instruction as well as collaborate with peers as they prepare to share their God given talents at the end of week Choral Performance. Parents, Grandparents, Family and Friends are all invited to enjoy the Concert on Friday in Memorial Hall as our campers share how their skills have grown vocally.
SOLD OUT Art Camp with Mrs. Lobo & Ms. LaMaire July 20-24, Grades 2-8 An Art Adventure Through Time. Join us for hands-on activities and art projects as we "travel through time" to be inspired by some of the greatest artists throughout history. Each day will begin with warm up sketching and feature two Artists (one historical and one modern/current) that inspire us for the day. Followed by plenty of studio time, daily art critiques, playground time and games. Our art projects are open-ended to encourage campers to explore their own unique artistic styles, abilities and interests. All supplies are included, campers will bring a morning snack and lunch daily.
Garden Camp with Mrs. Lobo & Ms. LaMaire July 27-31, Grades 2-8 God’s Great Bounty. Join us for a “Garden to Table” experience as we learn about how our food is grown, harvested, preserved and served into delicious and nutritious meals. Each day will feature a “star vegetable” that will inspire our endeavors. Campers will spend the morning in the garden planting, watering, weeding and harvesting. In the afternoon they will be chopping, mixing, baking and tasting nutritious snacks made from what we harvested that morning. All supplies are included, campers will bring a morning snack and lunch daily.
Kinder Camp with Mrs. Mannion July 6-10 OR July 20-24 OR July 27-31, Grades PreK4-1 Our littlest Saints are invited to spend a week with Mrs. Mannion and Ms. Szydlowski building friendships and sharing playtime with their peers. Each week of camp will feature a different theme, so our little ones that attend more than one week will remain engaged with exciting age appropriate learning activities.
